Nogas Island Anini-y Antique

Nogas Island: also called "Virgin Island"

It was last April (2012) that we got the chance to visit Nogas Island, we stayed there for two hours and
a half.

Near the old cemetery, we looked for someone owns a fisherman's boat that would bring us to Nogas island. While Negotiating, one of us found a strange bird.  Our round trip fee was settled for php. 500.00.

The island was so nice and peaceful. We saw a fruit that was unknown to us, But it was similar to PiƱa.  The place has white sand. You can see the beautiful coral reefs and mangroves in the area.

We first decided to go to the lighthouse. The path was guided by trees called kalachuchi. We can't see the flowers of those trees while walking below but when we reach the top of the lighthouse, we saw how lovely they are.

Nogas Island is a fish sanctuary that should be preserved. The water is clean and throwing of garbage in the area is something that should not be done. It was sad to see that the lighthouse was vandalized.

We bough food and we had our picnic there. No one sells food or snacks in the island.  Before leaving, we make sure that our area was clean.

You can also reach the island by visiting Sira-an Hot Spring Resort and from their you can rent a motoboat.
